Wooden toys in the interior

By Danique
in Home & Interior

As soon as you have children, the interior is without a doubt filled with toys. In most cases, these toys are made of plastic and have strikingly bright colours. Fun to play with, but not so soothing for your interior. To make the house yours again, we have some tips for a child-friendly yet stylish interior: wooden toys.

Divide the toys into storage baskets

In order to start from scratch, the first step is to clean up all the plastic or overly colourful toys. You can use a woven basket, storage box or wooden crate, for example.

The great thing about storage baskets is that you can use them in any room. In the nursery, in the living room and even in the kitchen.

Wooden toys in the living room

Besides toys you would rather hide, there are also toys you can leave in sight. Wooden toys are a good choice for your interior and for your child. Wooden toys are timeless, sustainable and stimulate the imagination of children. Also, wooden toys last much longer than colourful plastic toys.

Wooden toys can be used in many ways, such as a rocking horse, wooden blocks or a retro abacus. These toys are perfect to put on a wall shelf, sideboard or window sill.

It is also fun to have a wooden toy kitchen in your kitchen. Toy kitchens come in all shapes and sizes. It is also possible to personalise the wooden kitchen to match the style of your interior. A win-win situation! If a toy kitchen doesn’t fit in your home, you can also put wooden fruit and vegetables in a bowl. Perfect for decoration, and an easy way to entertain children while cooking.

Wooden toys in the nursery

In a child’s bedroom, wooden toys are always a good choice. An easy way to decorate the children’s room, but also very functional. A big advantage of wooden toys is that they can take some rough handling. You can therefore let your child play alone in his or her room.

Wooden toys come in different shapes, sizes and colours. You can even choose a wooden train with the name of your child. Personalised toys make the children’s room just that little bit more personal.

There are various ways of displaying the wooden toys in the children’s room. Think of a wall shelf, windowsill, desk or on a small (side) table. Keep in mind the height at which the wooden toys are placed. It would be a pity not to use them!
