Unique children’s wallpaper for a cosy children’s room

By Danique
in Home & Interior

Can the nursery use a refreshment? With just one small adjustment you can quickly achieve a great result. A new wallpaper in a different colour or pattern creates a completely new atmosphere in no time.

Popular children’s wallpaper

There are different themes when you look at children’s wallpaper. There is so much to choose from, yet there are some types of wallpaper that keep coming back. If you ask us, the following themes on children’s wallpaper are the most popular.

  • Animals
  • Flowers
  • Nature (e.g. a forest or jungle)
  • Cars
  • Graphic shapes (think of dots, triangles and stripes)

Design your own children’s wallpaper

Besides the fact that you can buy ready-made wallpaper, it might be much more fun to personalise the wallpaper yourself. This way you get truly unique children’s wallpaper.

This may sound trickier than it is, but nothing could be further from the truth. Designing your own wallpaper can be simple and is also super fun to do. There are several websites where you can fully personalize your wallpaper in a few minutes.

Among other things, it is possible to choose the main colour of the wallpaper, but the inclusion of a name in the design is also one of the options. How nice is it to personalize your child’s wallpaper with your child’s name?

Choose wallpaper with animals

When it comes to children, animals are always good. Hang a tough jungle wallpaper on the biggest wall of the room, and paint the rest of the walls in a quiet colour. For example cream, light gray or even white.

Busy wallpaper combined with walls in a contrasting colour can create a restless feeling. And of course you want to prevent unrest in a bedroom!

Besides, it’s much more fun to make the jungle wallpaper stand out, isn’t it?

Make a choice together

Our biggest tip? Choose some nice prints yourself, and let your child make the choice. This way you give away freedom and responsibility. As soon as the wallpaper is hanging, you can be sure that your child is very proud. Because he made the choice himself.

We do not recommend leaving your child completely free to choose the wallpaper. Children are often impulsive, and you should have a little control over that.

It’s good to demarcate the choice area for the kids. As soon as there are too many prints to choose from, it may just be that your child chooses a wallpaper that he does not fully support. In addition, it is also just nice to have influence on the wallpaper in the children’s room to hang. We really understand that. 😉
