Plants for in a terrarium

A terrarium is an enclosed self-sufficient environment. The humidity in a terrarium is very high, and not all plants are suitable for that. So, especially for you, a handy list of plants that are suitable for a terrarium.

Fittonia

In a terrarium, the Fittonia is the ideal ground cover. A Fittonia does not grow in height, but certainly in width.

Ferns

Like the Fittonia, a fern does not have excessive growth. It will be broad, but not really high. Handy for processing on the side of a terrarium.

Spider plant

In contrast to a Varen, a Spider plant can grow tall. Even if it becomes a tall bulb rather than a large plant. Just like the Fittonia and Varen so very handy for the sides of the terrarium.

Begonia

A Begonia grows both wide and tall. The plant does not grow that big, but it is better not to place the Begonia completely at the edge of a terrarium.

Spathiphyllum

A Spathiphyllum grows up nicely. Of course, the plant also grows a little wider, but mainly tall. It is therefore best to position the Spathiphyllum in the middle of the terrarium. This way the plant can use the full height of the terrarium.

Calathea

A mini Calathea is also suitable for a terrarium. Although the location of the terrariumis important. A Calathea needs very little light.

Good to keep in mind: a Calathea grows mainly in height. The middle of a terrarium is therefore the best position for the Calathea. Nice and sheltered between the other plants.
