An olive tree. Whether you have the plant inside or outside, it gives atmosphere. Because that Mediterranean plant makes us very happy, we share our tips and some fine inspirational images.
Taking care of an Olive tree
The care of an olive tree is quite easy. Lots of water, lots of sunlight and no plant nutrition. Additional advantage of the olive tree? The plant is not poisonous for pets. That makes a difference!
Place the olive tree in a spot where it gets a lot of light. It prefers direct sunlight, but if that doesn’t work then it can also get used to indirect sunlight.
On hot summer days, water the olive tree 2 to 3 times a week. From the end of the summer you can scale up the watering to 1x per week. And increase it again from spring onwards. This way you can keep the olive tree happy.
Repotting the olive tree is fortunately not necessary every year. However, we do recommend repotting the plant every 2 to 3 years. Some new soil and a larger flowerpot will do the plant good.
