The Skateboard bookshelf is ideal for a cool bedroom. Especially if your child(ren) actually like to be active on a skateboard. Making the bookshelf is not only easy but also a fun activity to do with the kids.
Supplies
- 2 threaded rods
- 16 bolts
- 16 washers
- 2 L-shaped wall hooks
- Cordless drill
- 2 skateboards
Step-by-step plan for making a skateboard bookshelf
Step 1
On a skateboard there are four holes at both ends. Enlarge these holes so that the threaded rods fit into them. Tip: repeat this step for both skateboards.
Step 2
Then place the nuts on the threaded rods without already placing them in the holes. The nuts may be about 4 centimetres from the top of the rod. Then place a washer on each threaded rod.
Step 3
Then it’s time to place the threaded rods with nuts and washers in the skateboard. It is best to fit the rods from the top of the skateboard.
Step 4
Then apply a nut to each threaded rod, about 10 centimetres from the top. Place a washer above.
Step 5
On top of the washer you place the second skateboard. Secure the second skateboard with two washers and on top of that two nuts.
Step 6
Once you’ve assembled the bookshelf of skateboards, you can add the wall hooks. Attach the hooks to the bottom of the top shelf. We recommend attaching these hooks to the inside of the threaded rods.
Step 7
As soon as all parts are securely attached you can attach the bookshelf to the wall! The wall hooks may not look very nice, but that’s no problem. When you actually fill the bookshelf you won’t see anything of the wall hooks anymore.
That was it! How did you like making this bookshelf? Something different for once, wasn’t it?
