Giving new life to an old lamp

Is it time to renew your interior? We are happy to help you with that! The one lamp you’ve been looking forward to for ages can easily be given a new life.

1. Use rope

With rope you can give a lamp new life in two ways. By tackling the leg or tackling the lampshade.

Remove the lampshade from the lamp and wrap the lower part of the shade with rope. Glue the beginning part of the rope. Make sure that the glue holds the rope in place. Wrap half of the lampshade with the ball of rope. Do this nice and tight so that there are no bald spots. Just as with the beginning, it is important to glue the end of the rope well.

Just like on the lampshade, you can pimp the lampshade with rope. We like to provide only half of the leg with rope. Attach the rope on both the beginning and end with glue.

2. Working with paint

You can easily decorate a lamp leg with paint. We recommend using a spray can of paint. Put the leg outside on a couple of old newspapers or a garbage bag. To make sure that the wind does not cause problems, it is best to tape the newspapers or garbage bags to the ground.

As with the rope, you can choose not to spray the entire leg. This gives an extra effect to the leg.

Also nice! Turn only a large LED lamp in the leg of the lamp. You really don’t always need a lampshade.

3. Swap the lampshade

Do you have any more lamps you’d like to brighten up? Swap the lampshades! It won’t take you much effort, money and time. You’ll have a new lamp in no time. Who knows, the result might be more fun than you thought beforehand.

4. Re-upholstery of lampshade

Covering a lampshade yourself is unfortunately not for everyone. However, you can also make a nice lampshade with other objects! How about that handwoven basket? The possibilities are endless!
