Creating an outdoor pallet sofa within 5 steps

By Danique
in Home & Interior

To make an outdoor sofa out of pallets you need the following materials and tools.

Supplies

  • Pallets
  • Chipboard screws (200 mm and 50 mm)
  • Furniture wheels
  • Battery screwdriver and/or drill
  • Bit set (various attachments for the drill)

Step 1

Turn over a pallet and place it with the top on the ground. The undercarriage now protrudes.

Step 2

Place a pallet on the first pallet. Put the second pallet with the top side up. In the normal way.

Step 3

Then apply 200 mm screws in all four corners. From the top towards the pallet underneath. We recommend fixing at least 2 screws per corner.

Step 4

Then put the backrest against the undercarriage. Tip: slide the undercarriage against a wall. This way, the sofa will not move when you fix the backrest.

Step 5

Screw on the backrest. Tighten 3 200 mm screws per block. You can use 50 mm screws for the boards. Also for the planks we recommend to fix 3 screws per plank.

Step 6

Do you want a movable sofa? Thanks, you can also fix furniture wheels under the pallets. We recommend that you only place 2 furniture wheels at the front. This will give the sofa a comfortable angle, and the sofa is also easier to move.

Tip: sitting on pallets obviously does not provide the best comfort. Add some cosy cushions for optimal comfort.

Everything finished? Then we’d like to see your results!
