Refresh the washbasin
A washbasin can be set up in two ways. The washbasin with (loose) cupboard underneath it, or a separate one.
At a washbasin with (loose) closet there are several possibilities:
- Replace the cabinet for a new one, or go looking for a recycled one.
- Replace the handles of the cabinet. You’ll be amazed at the effect of such a small change!

Replace the taps
And we’re not only talking about the tap at the washbasin, but also the tap or knobs of the shower. Probably all these knobs and taps are made of iron. How about going for a copper version? In both industrial and rural interiors, a copper tap will look great. Or how about matte black? A matte black faucet is not dark, but very stylish.
If you still have a budget you could also replace the shower head. Choose the same material as the other knobs and taps. This way you take care of one whole.
Choose new mirrors and bath mat
Does the standard thin and square bathroom mirror still hang there? Take this mirror off, and choose a nicer one. Most standard bathroom mirrors are very thin. However, such a beautiful mirror for living rooms is also very suitable for bathrooms.
And while you’re at it with those mirrors, take a look at the bath mat. Is that colour still what it was? Under a normal rug you can also easily attach an anti-slip mat. A nice print or striking colour.
Change toilet seat, holder and trashcan
Whether you have a toilet in the bathroom, or just in a separate room, the toilet is also easy to tackle. Put a new pair of toilet seats on the toilet and the look will never be the same again. You can also pick up the toilet roll hanger and replace it with a matte black or copper one. Replace the toilet roll hanger for a basket in which you can easily throw the rolls. In the same style you can also tackle the bin and toilet brush. By choosing one style you immediately tackle the atmosphere in the room.
Replace the bathroom lighting
The light in a bathroom is often very simple. A practical ceiling, or spotlights above the mirror. This is often very bright light. To create a spa feeling you can replace this white fluorescent light with more natural light. Also take a look at the possibilities to hang a nice hanging lamp. Not every lamp is suitable for the amount of moisture in a bathroom.
