This post brought to you by Elmer’s ProBond Advanced. All opinions are 100% mine. My latest DIY project has been one on my to-do list for a while.  I've been inspired by so many who have made their own jewelry holders that I even have a pinterest board solely dedicated to unique styles and creations that I admire!  And now the day has finally come for ME to share mine... This project was slightly involved to make, but the overall process wasn't difficult + it included a few of my favorite tools & my latest love, Elmer's ProBond Advanced.  This bonding glue is awesome and was a … [Read more...]

Ideas for Breaking Up Matching Furniture

Pushing the limits and ditching the "rules" of decorating can sometimes be tough.  And even as a designer, I've fallen victim to "not following the rules". But honestly, what rules? There are no real decorating rules that must be followed to a T.   Instead I have tried to train myself and in turn share suggestions + ideas with you, my readers,  rules of thumb, helpful tips + tricks, and inspiration, but definitely no must-follow-these-rules-or-you're-wrong. Why?  Because no house is the same. Because no 2 people have the same feeling of what's most important to them. Because every … [Read more...]

22 Creative + Clever Shared Bedroom Ideas for Kids

January 22, 2014

I hope you're having a fabulous + fun week so far.  Some of your got blasted with the "polar vortex" (a little dramatic I think), but bizarrely where we live in upstate NY, we got skunked.  Anyway, no complaints here since we are dealing with -10 temps.  When is Spring coming???  Anyway, earlier this week I shared my plan for the bedroom space that I am designing for my kids since the news of baby#3.  The shift of spaces is pretty big news (in our house) and even though I got some grumbles from the peanut gallery, I think (overall) both of them are happy with the direction. Also in my plan … [Read more...]

Another Monday.  It was a tough one to get up for, but since the kids + hubby were home and I had a few meetings to get ready for, it was a must to roll out of bed after 3 snoozes.  I hope you also had a great weekend!  I definitely got my DIY-on with a few new projects (one I shared a peak of on IG) + I started some painting in the kids room.  And that's the space that I'm going to share more about today. As I mentioned last week, our family is welcoming baby #3 in mid-June and since our house has 3 bedroom and 5 people, some sharing of spaces is going to need to happen.  The hubby + I … [Read more...]

Thanks all for loving my printables so much - I didn't realize what a hit they'd be.  I guess next time I should have more confidence...  Weren't all the other printables along the Blog Hop super cute as well?  I am still in the romance mood (that sounded corny), and wanted to share with you a wreath I created last year.  It was originally featured on Jen's blog, but I wanted to give it a refresh and share it all with you.  It's one of my favorites to-date! Come see how I made this Valentine Wreath with Paint Chip Flowers... It wasn't difficult to make at all and the flower petals … [Read more...]

What a year it's been.  I don't know about you, but for me, it's gone by in a blink of an eye.  Seriously.  I don't think a year has ever gone by so fast.  Anyway, the past year has been filled with many unexpected and rewarding opportunities - I can't be more thankful.  As always, it's fun to look back on all the DIY creations and projects that have been accomplished around the ole' homestead.  Let's head down memory lane for 2013... January started out with revamping my central command center with a new chalkboard wall behind.  Who knew at the time that it would be chosen to be featured … [Read more...]

This post brought to you by Duck Brand provided by ShurTech Brands, LLC. All opinions are 100% mine. My shopping is pretty much wrapped up, and I've even managed to mail a few gifts to family + friends before the long lines at the Post Office begin.  I feel good.  I feel ahead of the game.  How about you? A little confession though, I'm forgoing Christmas cards this year.  It was a difficult decision to make because I enjoy putting together our card each year, but I just couldn't get my mind wrapped around the idea this season.  Once I made the final decision, I felt such a huge relief.  … [Read more...]

Classic Surfaces for the home by @BuildDirect

This post brought to you by BuildDirect. All opinions are 100% mine. About a year into blogging, I started contributing as a Guest Blogger on BuildDirect, an online supplier of home improvement products.  I believed that they were competitive with their pricing, but even more so they had a great connection with their consumers through social media.  Additionally the BuildDirect blog, which I was a contributor for, provided fresh, creative, and innovative ideas to homeowners and consumers.  From tips on how to spray paint, to projects using pallets, to mudroom storage solutions, I shared … [Read more...]

DIY: Wood Spice Rack

November 6, 2013

DIY: Wood Spice Rach Holder for inside the kitchen cabinets; Less than $8 to make, in 15 minutes by @Jenna_Burger, sasinteriors.net

Earlier this week, I shared my newly organized kitchen cabinet interiors where I added multiple materials to make the vertical space on the interiors of the doors super useful.  One specific element that made a world of difference, as far as storage, are the 2 wood spice racks that I made from scratch. While originally gathering materials for the project, I was on the search for pre-made spice holders.  I didn't have a specific style in mind but was hoping for wood.  In the end, I didn't find anything, so instead I DIYed them. One of the best sponsor gifts I came away with from Haven … [Read more...]
