Fall Front Porch

Fall Front Porch by @Jenna_Burger, sasinteriors.net

It's officially Fall! I was a bit sad to see the Summer end, but I have to say, with the kids back in school and a routine once again being established, the arrival of the season has actually been quite delightful.  The weather also has been chilly, so it just adds to the thought that Fall is in full swing. To celebrate the new season, I had to give my front porch a new look.  After finishing it up over the weekend + photographing it yesterday, it's ready to share + enjoy! This seasons front porch didn't change much.  I really just added in a few new layers of color + festive … [Read more...]

Striking Spring Porches, Doors, and Entryways

Major Spring Inspiration: Striking Spring Doors, Porches, and Entryways. Roundup by @Jenna_Burger, SASinteriors.net

Spring is finally peaking through. It's the perfect time of year to open up the windows, let the fresh air in, and rid the winter decor for some fresh, new, colorful accents. We can finally come out of hibernation, step outside the front door, and actually spend time looking at our homes instead of darting directly from the indoors to the car in 2.8 seconds to avoid the frigid cold (well maybe that's just me - hehe). The entry to a home sets the tone for what's to come indoors. What's created and displayed on the front door, porch, and entryway make the first impression not only for … [Read more...]

Christmas Tablescape

December 4, 2012

sneakpeak_Holiday Table

We're only a few days into December, but my table is set and ready for Christmas. Of course I'll be using the table between now and then, but I had a little downtime last weekend and was excited to do a trial run for our Christmas dinner and other gatherings throughout the holiday season.  I adore creating new tablescape vignettes and wanted to experiment using a few new accessories that I recently picked up from the Dollar General Holiday décor aisle. I mixed them with a few thrift store finds and DIY projects to create this... I had alot of fun creating this vignette and we actually … [Read more...]

14 Festive Fireplace Mantels for Fall

Fall is a favorite time of year for me. Even though it's not technically a new year, with the kids returning to school, it feels like a new beginning. I treasure the breezy days of late September when we get to pack away the sandals and replace them with riding boots and polar fleeces. I enjoy apple picking and pumpkin carving with the kids while being mesmerized by the Fall foilage. But most of all, I love organizing and decorating for the new season.  Pumpkins, ghords, warm colors, blankets...  Autumn brings such cozy thoughts.  As I'm starting to think about and get in the mood for … [Read more...]

I realized that lately I've been sharing alot of my own DIY creations (which I hope you've been enjoying) and less inspirational interior spaces by others.  With the internet, magazines, and books, I'm never at a loss for finding spaces that WOW me (and I hope you as well). With the Holidays approaching, the typical everyday decor is replaced with seasonal favorites, and once again my jaw has dropped at some of the interior rooms that fellow designers have created.  Let's take a look at some of my favorite spaces decorated for the Christmas. Where do I begin?  This interior fully … [Read more...]

DIY: Christmas Stockings

December 7, 2011

Did you check out my newly decorated Christmas mantel?  If not, that's okay (but head over there now).  In that post you got a little sneak preview of the Christmas stockings that I recently made.  As a family of four, we've never had matching stockings.  The mister and I have the same (since we bought those together after getting married), but then came child #1 and he got a different style stocking, and after that child #2 came along and she has an even different style stocking.  Anyway, each year it's been a mish-mosh of different color and style stockings hung on the mantel, until … [Read more...]

It's here... It's here... Autumn is here! For some reason, this year has been difficult for me to say goodbye to Summer. I guess because the winter in NY was soooo long and the summer wasn't overly hot, I felt like I wasn't ready for it to end (I know many of you southerns feel the complete opposite - you are so ready to ba-bye to summer). Anyway, I am starting to get into the Fall spirit and am so thankful to live in a part of the country (Upstate NY) that is known for amazing Fall foilage.  The deep colors of reds, oranges, and yellows are just a delight to see and experience. Here are a … [Read more...]

Fall Wreath with Fabric Flowers

Fall Wreath with Fabric Flowers

Fall is right around the corner and what better way to celebrate a new season than to don a new wreath on the front door.  The front door is often thought of as the “mouth” of a home, the entry point of comfort, happiness, and where great opportunities begin. For me the front door, signifies the "entrance of", so let's enter this new season with my new Autumn Wreath. I loved last year's wreath because it was different and unique, but for a long time, I've wanted to jump on the bandwagon and make a burlap round wreath with fabric flowers.  I was going to make this style wreath in the Spring, … [Read more...]
