Faux Animal Heads For Your Interiors

February 7, 2011

I had definite mixed feelings on writing a post about using faux animal heads in our interior decor.  Thinking about animal heads, brings me back to my childhood when I walked into a  friends house, and was welcomed everytime by what felt like the wilderness.  Those poor little animals now mounted on polished wood, made me heart ache. The interior topics that I usually cover, I feelpassionate about and want to share with others to use and incorporate in theirhomes.  But even though I may not like something, it doesn't mean I shouldn't write about it.   So how do … [Read more...]

New Year, New Home: Beautifying Your Laundry

January 26, 2011

One space in your home that you (most likely) use ALOT is your laundry room {or laundry area or laundry closet or laundry nook}.....you get the picture.  For me, I do TONS of laundry (more than I'd like to admit)   After the kitchen, the laundry room is most likely the second space that you spend the most time ~ especially if you have kids ~ so beautify it...VAMP IT UP!!  In many homes, the laundry room area is small and doesn't allow the proper room to sort, wash, and fold!  The unfinished closet or hidden space in the basement, just isn't cutting it.  … [Read more...]

New Year, New Home: Creating a Comfortable and Efficient Home Office

January 24, 2011

With so many of us working from home, either full-time or part-time, creating a designated space for all of our work related materials is vital for ourselves and our home environment.  A private area to call 'mine' is crucial to provide privacy and efficiency.  Many of us use laptops and wireless connections, so the flexibility of our 'office' can be anywhere throughout the house, but the downside is that our work space often ends up being right smack in the 'heart of the home'. Wherever your 'office' may be, why not make it beautiful? How do you have an office area amidst your living … [Read more...]

American Painter: Mark Innerst

December 21, 2010

I came across an amazing artist recently and had to share some of his momentous pieces. Mark Innerst, who grew up in Pennsylvania and New York, has forever been inspired by his surroundings to create a mixture of abstract and realist compositions.  A recent article in Elle Decor put it perfectly, "The next time you’re in Manhattan, stand at the center of a midtown crosswalk. Then look up the avenue and squint a bit. The jumble of language on billboards and shop signs falls away, and you’re left with a mosaic of stone, glass, and hazy light."  Some of Innerst's painting titles, … [Read more...]
