This post brought to you by Elmer’s ProBond Advanced. All opinions are 100% mine. My latest DIY project has been one on my to-do list for a while.  I've been inspired by so many who have made their own jewelry holders that I even have a pinterest board solely dedicated to unique styles and creations that I admire!  And now the day has finally come for ME to share mine... This project was slightly involved to make, but the overall process wasn't difficult + it included a few of my favorite tools & my latest love, Elmer's ProBond Advanced.  This bonding glue is awesome and was a … [Read more...]

Happy Friday my fabulous friends!  Boy, it's been a rough week for me.  Once again, I am sick with a bad cold and at 30 weeks prego, it's been a bit rough.  On lighter + much happier note, the warm sunny skies have opened up and I am eagerly excited that Spring has arrived.  Aren't you? Even though I'm not feeling 100%, I wanted to jump on the blog to share something special with you before the weekend gets under way.  A few months ago, a very kind online shop owner reached out to me.  I get tons of emails daily from companies wanting to partner with me or try/test new products.  Most … [Read more...]

DIY: Frame Turned Tray

April 9, 2014

This post brought to you by Elmer’s ProBond Advanced. All opinions are 100% mine. With the excitement of Spring finally here (our snow is almost all melted), I started spicing up the house with a few lighter + brighter elements.  The first area that I started with... The Foyer!  The entryway of the home is the perfect place to get the Spring time decor rolling.  Incorporating trays are a design-must in my book for styling tabletops + vignettes.  After clearing off the top of the gold dresser to start with a fresh palette, I knew I needed a new tray.   So I made one... From Frame to Tray, … [Read more...]

DIY: Wood Honeycomb Shelves

April 2, 2014

cover

Even though we veered away from the original design for the revamped shared kids space, my son had his heart set on honeycomb shelves after I showed him the Land of Nod style.  And since this mama can't let her boy down, I had to pull through. But instead of buying, what did I do?  DIYed them, of course.  After a little research & this post by A Beautiful Mess, I was confident to move forward. Not only are these honeycomb / hexagon shelves functional, the whole ensemble is like a piece of art.  And instead of painting the shelves a color or staining them a traditional wood finish, I … [Read more...]

DIY: Rolling Underbed Wood Storage Cart

March 31, 2014

I've been busy-busy on finishing up the details for my boys room makeover.  This room has taken quite the turn from it originally being a boy/girl, sister/brother shared bedroom, to a full-on boy hangout haven!  Even though my little guy is only 7 (just shy of 8), I feel it's a space he can grow with (until I get my hands on it for another makeover, hehe). So my latest and greatest DIY project in the room is something that holds stuff that I often refer to as the 'bane of my existence'... TOYS.  Specifically, the little, itty bitty toys like Legos and Kinex that somehow always end up under … [Read more...]

Decorating with Leaning + Ladder Shelves

March 24, 2014

cover

Within the past two months, I've purchased 4 leaning shelves (a.k.a. ladder shelves). Obsessed? No. Great for storage? Affordable? Open + Airy?  Yes. For the same reason, I've been loving leaning shelves as of late, I've got my clients hooked too and I'd like to share with you why leaning shelves work so well for any room in the home. Any style shelf gives height to the room. Most pieces of furniture (tables, sofa, chair, bed, etc) aren't higher than 30/36" off the floor, which often leaves pictures / artwork to be the only source of height in a room.  As much as it's important to … [Read more...]

Creating Colorful Easter Eggs with Melted Crayons

Decorating with Eggs Using Melted Crayons

In just about a month, another Easter will be upon us.  Along with focusing on the importance of Easter, creating colorful eggs is often a tradition that many kids enjoy as the holiday approaches, mine included!  A basket filled with eggs of varying hues can make a gorgeous centerpiece and is the ideal reminder that Spring is on it's way - I hope. A new and unique alternative idea that you may want to try this year is to use crayons instead of the traditional food coloring or store-bought dye kits.  I have to tell you, the result will be unexpectedly awesome!  Have you ever felt that the … [Read more...]

BHG Kitchen + Bath Makeovers COVER Feature {behind the scenes}

March 17, 2014

KBMO 11

Hot on the newsstands... I'm thrilled to share that a kitchen project I designed is featured on the cover of the Spring 2014 Better Homes and Gardens Special Interest Publication, Kitchen + Bath Makeovers.  It's a huge honor and a project that's been in the works for over a year.  The issue just hit the newsstands and I actually haven't even got my hands on it yet (I downloaded the digital copy, which you can do too if you want - you won't be disappointed!)... Isn't it beautiful?!  It's a 3-tone kitchen, which I love.  AND it incorporates the color I am most obsessed with... NAVY.  … [Read more...]
