Our Baby Girl Has Arrived!

July 1, 2014

What an incredible 9 months (isn't it technically 10 months?) it has been and I am thrilled to share that our baby girl is finally here.  We were blessed with her arrival late last week and have been overwhelmed with joy ever since.  Even though it's been less than a week, we truly feel like a complete family. Here she is... sorry for the annoying watermark near her face, but I'm a bit of an overprotective mom and have heard crazy, scary stories of kids pictures taken from blogs and used by others without permission on the web.  I hope you can enjoy the images despite... She is such a … [Read more...]

I was honored when Jenna asked me to be a part of her Meaningful Home series this year because everything I do in our house is with the purpose of making it feel like home. Almost everything in our home has meaning, from the family pictures above the French doors, to the handmade coffee table, with scratches from when our daughter was little, to the old books I use as decorations (this Bible … [Read more...]

Today’s guest post for the Creating a Meaningful Home Blog Series is Christine of First Home Love Life. Welcome Christine… ******************* Hi there! I'm Christine from First Home Love Life, and I'm so thrilled Jenna asked me to be here today to share a little bit of my home with you! When Jenna asked me to share how I created a meaningful home, I really had to take some time to think about it. As a blogger in the home decor/ lifestyle niche, I don't even have a "proper" home tour on my own blog because in a lot of ways our home is in that awkward pre-teen phase of trying to … [Read more...]

15 Must-Try Strawberry Recipes

June 24, 2014

This post has nothing to do with interiors. But don't go anywhere because it has to do with something really good.  Something that is a favorite of most during the late Spring & Summer...  STRAWBERRIES! Yummy, juicy strawberries straight from the vine are the most delicious treat ever - don't you think?!  Last week, I took my little lady and went with a friend strawberry picking {confession, it was my first time strawberry picking} and we had a blast.  I just loved how organic and natural it felt taking food from farm to home.  We left with a whole lotta strawberries so of course I had … [Read more...]

DIY: Homemade Circle Crib Mobile

June 20, 2014

No baby yet.  Still waiting... In the meantime though, thank you all for the kind thoughts on the Nursery Nook that I created for our new soon-to-arrive (any minute) bundle! For the new 'nook' I created this adorable easy-to-make and completely homemade crib mobile too...  As promised, I'm happy to show you all the steps. This type of circle crib mobile is nothing new.  I'm sure you've seen it before in stores and/or created by others (I've seen a few here & there and of course on pinterest), but I've always adored the look and how much color + height it brings to a room.  Plus … [Read more...]

Creating a Meaningful Home: In My Own Style

June 18, 2014

Today’s guest post for the Creating a Meaningful Home Blog Series is Diane of In My Own Style. Welcome Diane… ******************* Hello - Diane here today from In My Own Style. When Jenna asked if I would like to contribute to her summer blog series, Creating a Meaningful Home, I signed right up since it is the only kind of home I create. I am not a big fan of trends or "stuff" to line up on tables and mantels just to make a room look decorated. I also don't want my house to look like a furniture showroom where every thing matches and looks too perfect. It might look good in a … [Read more...]

I'm Beth Bryan from Unskinny Boppy, and I could not be more pleased to be kicking off the "Creating a Meaningful Home" series on Jenna's blog today! Thanks for having me, Jenna!
