25 Gorgeous Nursery Spaces

January 18, 2012

We’re at the point with our family, that we’ll soon be saying adiós, a.k.a ba-bye, to my little girls crib and “nursery”.  She’s almost at the age for a big girl bed (trying to hold back the tears), and as I am excited to make some changes to her room, I kind of wish she could stay in her crib forever.  In trying to hold on to every last bit of her baby years, I thought it would be fun to check out some nursery spaces.  Nurseries are one of my favorite rooms to design.  Not only is it important to many new parents because it’s the first space for their bundle of joy to rest their head, but it’s a space that offers a blank slate to transform.  With blank white walls it can be changed to convey any style –  fun, funky, cute, adorable, whimsical, sophisticated, etc…  It can be a magical place where your child may take their first step, say their first word, and where you may spend countless hours rocking them to sleep.

Let’s take a look at a few of my favorite nursery spaces.

Bold dual guest room and nursery space with modern geometric prints in navy and grass green by Jennifer Delonge.

Warm and calm nursery space with soft pinks and rose colored accents by Amy Meier.

  1. I love the orange and white nursery with the tree, but so many of them have elements I’m in love with! I certainly don’t want another baby, but I would really enjoy decorating another nursery!

They are all lovely, but I am disturbed by all the artwork and shelving hanging over the cribs. As active as my two daughters were, they would have that artwork pulled down and into their cribs in no time. I do realize these are just design ideas, but I hope that people don’t try hanging things in reach of their child’s crib.

    • You make a very good point, Suzanne and hopefully parents do take that into account for the safety of their children! – Jenna

    • Amazing nursery creation – great job, thanks Rebekah!

    • Rebekah, I just realized I didn’t know this was YOUR space, which is why I didn’t share the original source link, but I will include that now. Thanks for reaching out to me!

  7. Thanks for your work on making this brilliant collection of nurseries to inspire. It is hard to pick a favourite but I am really drawn to the ‘handmade haven’.
