DIY: Paint Swatch Chandelier

September 16, 2011

Paint chips are a staple in any DIYers home and this colorful chandelier (using quite a lot of paint chips) is just gorgeous and so fun for a nursery, little girls room, or play area!  Using about 40-60 paint chips, the frame of a small lamp shade, and clear tape, this beautiful paint swatch chandelier can be a focal point of any space in no time.

This colorful creation was made with an array of pink tones, from soft blush to deep red.   Yet, I could also see this same chandelier idea with bright and bold colors of yellows, blues, reds and greens OR  variations all blue hues OR all hues of purple.  What do you think?  And instead of the circles, maybe another pattern more fitting for a boys room – like an airplane silhouette.  Endless ideas!  To see more pictures and a complete tutorial on how to create your own Paint Swatch Chandelier, head over to {Hey Gorgeous}.

There is so much to create using colorful paint chips – and they’re FREE, which is a bonus!  (I’m actually surprised that the paint companies haven’t caught on to us sneaky little DIYers – maybe they secretly like the indirect promotion).  What crafty projects have you created using paint chip swatches?

  3. Hi Jenna, I just found you. I love this idea! I’m still working on my office space and have planned to use an Ikea light, but worried the room will be too white (I’m doing white & turquoise) so this gives me an idea to either make a completely new light like this or add color/chips to the Ikea light.

btw, if you’ve done any kids rooms, I’d love for you to link them up at my party just for kids decor on Tuesday. It’s called Tuesday’s Nursery, but for any age of kids decor. I hope to see you soon – nice to meet you!
