Totally Loving Turquoise

July 27, 2011

I have a bit of an obsession with turquoise.  It doesn’t really mesh well with the colors of my interior (boo), yet I was able to sneak a bit of it in my home during the reno to the kids bath (yay)!  It’s such a fresh, bold, and engaging color that can be striking or subtle depending on it’s use and collaboration with other hues.

Yes, it was last year’s Pantone Color of the Year, but I think it’s still a HOT – HOT – HOT color, especially for summer!

Turquoise:  a slightly greenish tone of light blue based on the gem turquoise. The term comes from the French for Turkish.

Pops of Turquoise are breathtaking!  This room is fresh and crisp by introducing touches of turquoise in the lamps, bed, and wall ~ BEAUTY.

Wouldn’t this be a fun space to work in??  I would never leave!  In this office, I’m drawn to the variations of turquoise that are introduced.  From the light hues on the bookcase to the intense turquoise on the garden stool, this space is gorgeous!

This is a beautiful bathroom ~ simple, yet chic.  Painting the outside of a clawfoot tub is a great way to add color in a space.  Pair it flowy sheers and an exciting wall color, and you’ve got a tranquil room to relax.

Who ever lives in this home, LOVES Turquoise!  Do you blame them???  As turquoise is the main color of this house, it’s beautifully paired with calming hues of creams, ivories, and touches of soft yellow.  Would you love to live here?

L-O-V-E this room!  How creative to paint a dresser like a color swatch?!  Cassie of Primitive & Proper recently used this picture as inspiration to create her own color swatch dresser.  Take a look {here}

Lovely turquoise accents

I want to just jump in this bed and stay there all day!  Can you say, WOW.  Accents of Turquoise paired with this years, Color of the Year, Honeysuckle, is a beautiful combination.

More Turquoise spaces that I l-u-r-v-e

I could just go on and on and on….there are so many beautiful spaces using the tantalizing turquoise color!

Okay, Okay…one more!

Look at this gorgeous chandelier using mason jars.  Couldn’t you see this in your kitchen or bathroom?

Tell me…what do you think of turquoise.  Do you have this color in your home?

  10. Jenna,

    My daughter found your “turquoise #9″ image on pinterest and she now has me on the hunt for that comforter or something similar. I know it has been just short of a year, but would you know where it comes from by ANY chance? The white base with turquoise, green, pink, etc. floral. Thanks…COlleen

    • Hi Colleen, I looked into finding more information on the turquoise comforter, but was unable to find the original source. Sorry! Good Luck in your finds. -Jenna
